The validity of cheerleading as a sport has been questioned in recent years. Whatever your stand on the issue, our
goal at World Class Gymnastics & Cheerleading is to make our cheerleaders the best athletes they can be. We work
hard to provide a safe, positive atmosphere that promotes self-confidence, positive attitudes, and a sense of
accomplishment whether working as a team or individually.

Try-outs are the time when the cheerleader’s abilities and skills are evaluated by the coaches for placement on
teams. Our Junior and Senior level teams are required to take an additional tumbling class as well as their regular
cheer practice each week. This only works to improve the tumbling skills of the cheerleader and thus, the team as a
whole. Youth and mini levels are encourage to take an additional tumbling class, but it is not required. Practice
times vary from 1 hour/week to 4 hours/week, depending on the team and level.

Our dedicated coaches have many years of experience in cheerleading from pop warner, high school, college, and
even professionally. They work very hard to make World Class Elite All Star teams the best, but ultimately our goal
is that each cheerleader develops as sense of self-worth and accomplishment, self-confidence and motivation, and
learns to work positively with others as a team. We not only develop athletes but young women and men who will
become as asset to their community and society.

World Class Elite All Star are very fortunate to have their home base with World Class Gymnastics & Cheerleading.
Because of our association with WCGC, we are afforded the best coaches, gym facility and tumbling instruction in
the area. Our 15,000 square foot air conditioned facility offers 2 cheer floors, a spring floor, tumble track,
trampoline, a running tumbling strip and pit!

OUR CHEERLEADING PROGRAM - A THREE STAGE APPROACH
The World Class Elite All Star cheerleading program can best be described by breaking it down into three distinct
stages. These three stages complement each other and help develop continuity in preparing teams for competition.

Stage 1 - Selection and Placement on Teams (April - August) - The first stage starts with tryouts and placement on a
team. A summer workout and tumbling schedule is put together which also includes a cheerleading camp. THIS
FIRST STAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT IS THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH THE REST OF THE
SEASON IS BUILT. The teams begin to learn about each other, gain confidence in their individual and collective
abilities, and adjust to working together. Team members can experiment at different positions. Coaches can begin
to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the team and start to design a program which the team will present during
stage 3 - Competing.

Summer Choreography Camp: A successful season begins with summer camp. Team routines and choreography are
established at camp, therefore making it an essential part of stage one. It provides the opportunity to learn new
skills, as well as bond with teammates. Cheerleaders gain confidence in working with other team members.

Stage 2 - Solidifying Routines (August - December) Work is done on tumbling and stunting coordination.
Conditioning is stressed so that the potential for injuries is lessened. Confidence within the team continues to grow.

Stage 3 - Competing (December/January - April) Competing is the culmination of all of the efforts the cheerleaders
and coaches have put in up to this point! Teamwork and conditioning is emphasized. The coaches may slightly
revise competition routines to give each team the best competitive advantage. Revisions are carefully made and then
practiced repeatedly until they become second-nature to the team. You may see extra practices during the week of
competition, if the coach feels they are needed. This stage continues until the end of the competition season in
April. The season officially ends with the last competition for Friends & Family, an exhibition performance at
World Class Gymnastics & Cheerleading.
